KixSport has developed the Taekwondo League to provide regular opportunities for competitive athletes to practice and improve match skills, simply by competing more often.
Taekwondo team competitions provide an exciting development for the sport and with the use of electronic scoring systems the future is very exciting for the sport athlete.
The KixSport Taekwondo League has been developed by senior taekwondo coaches as a vehicle to increase competitive opportunities and to improve the sport experience for athletes of all levels.
Cricket, Basketball and AFL have initiated dynamic changes over the last few decades which have enabled them to grow significantly and have raised their profiles. Based on these observations KixSport have introduced a dynamic shift for combat sport athletes.
A successful and regular local competition will enable clubs greater opportunities to enlist sponsorship from businesses in their area. A higher profile will also greatly enhance new club memberships. There will be improved promotional and marketing opportunities for clubs & athletes.
The KixSport is a team competition, the teams comprise of six players in six weight divisions. There are four age divisions with male & female teams. Within these divisions there are three skill level categories called A, B & C.
The competition is held over a twelve week season with home and away matches held fortnightly. Seasonal athlete & team awards will be given out at the KixSport awards function. At the conclusion of the season, KixSport will select athletes to a state team based on their performances. That team will compete against other state teams from which national teams can be selected for international team events.
